Abstract (EN)

In this study, "The Characters in Vedat Türkali's Novels" were investigated. In the first place, the development process of Turkish novel from the Tanzimat (Reform Era) to the Republic was elaborated on in general terms and Vedat Türkali's position during this period was dealt with. In the first chapter, Vedat Türkali's life, understanding of arts and works were mentioned under sub-headings. In the second chapter, the characters in Vedat Türkali's novels (Bir Gün Tek Başına, Mavi Karanlık, Yeşilçam Dedikleri Türkiye, Tek Kişilik Ölüm, Güven I, Güven II, Kayıp Romanlar, Yalancı Tanıklar Kahvesi) were investigated in details in sub-headings. Türkali's novels were investigated based on the classifications of "characters" in Nurullah Çetin's book "Novel Analysis Approach. " Furthermore, a detailed investigation was conducted on recent history with a view to accurately dealing with the significant historical processes while evaluating the characters in the novels. In the conclusion part, the characteristics we identified in Vedat Türkali's novels about the characters and the implications we drew were elaborately presented.
