The rhetoric science practice in the commentary of vehbe Zuhaylî's et-Tafsîr al-munîr

It is aimed that to determine how rhetoric is applied in the work, the contribution of these practices to commentary and whether the author has original commentary, in the study that we analised the rhetoric practices in the work of Vehbe Zuhaylî named et-Tefsîru'l-Münîr. Firstly, the brief information is given about the author's life, education, works, et-Tefsîru'l-Münîr and its method in the present work. Afterwards, the rhetoric science, the relationship between Quran and rhetoric science and the topic of I'câzu'l-Quran (Miracle of the Quran) are generally discussed. Then, the subjects that Vehbe Zuhaylî mentinoned under the title of under "rhetoric" in et-Tefsîru'l-Münîr and the explanations he made in the commentary section about these issues were determined. Later, these pieces of information are classified as the branches of "ma'ânî/meanings", "bayân/statement" ve "bedî'/ aesthetic" in the light of example verses that are appropriate to these subjects and then Zuhaylî's comments on the relevant verse are evaluated. Additionally, if there are Zemahşerî, Râzî, Beyzâvî, Abu Hayyan, Ebussuûd Efendi, Âlûsî, Tahir b. Ashur and Sabunî's different comments on the examples stated above, they will be also discussed. It is seen that the author mostly included technical rhetoric terms and he touched on the rhetoric comments reflected in the meaning of the commentary, he composed skillfully and copyrighted the comments of the previous commentators about the use of technical terms.
