Structure and theme in Veysel Çolak's poems

Veysel Çolak, one of the socialist poets and writers, is one of the important names of the Turkish literature. Veysel Çolak is known for her poems and numerous works on the art of poetry. He is a poet who puts socialism in the center and writes mostly socialist poems. In this study, the poems of Veysel Çolak, who is alive and continues to work, were examined. While making this analysis, the poet's life, art life and ideas were taken into consideration. The aim of the study is to examine Veysel Çolak's poems in terms of structure and to identify and interpret the themes in his poems. While doing this, social and political events and cultural change in Turkey during the period the poet lived in were tried to be taken into consideration. Considering Veysel Çolak's current poetry ideas, general opinions were reached. The works of the poet, who prioritizes people with a socialist approach, are not independent of his ideology. Ideologies also contain an utopia within themselves. They promise a more ideal society and world. In this sense, ideologies can be read as a fiction of the future.
