Abstract (EN)
In this thesis, the identity of Russian Foreign Policy in the period of Vladimir Putin, who succeeded Boris Yeltin's administration, was examined. Yeltsin thought that was the best way for the Russian Federation to head to the West and shaped the foreign policy with an Anlanticism movement. But when the necessary support from the West did not arrive, Yeltsin administration turned to the 'Near Abroad'. The elements that constitute identity are also used in the thesis study which is covered in the parameters required for the formation of foreign policy. Putin thought about what would be best for the Russian Federation and became the president who lifted the Russian Federation. Putin succeeded in both internal and external politics as a result of his policies, he went towards to Eurasia but did not fully translate his face from the West. In this thesis study, Atlanticism and Eurasianism, that give a view that Russian Foreign Policy, are compared in the framework of the theory of social constructivism. As a result of this thesis, the Russian Foreign Policy in the Putin period presents a view that attaches importance to the Eurasian region and establishes good relations with the West in the national interests of Russian Federation.
