Thermodynamic analysis of VRV air conditioning systems

Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, in order to cool two offices, which are considered to be in İstanbul and Bodrum, at June, July, August and September, design, exergy analysis and cost analysis of these offices have been performed. For selection, designing and exergy analysis of air conditioning systems, thermal loads of offices have been determined. Thermal loads have been calculated by using structures of offices and meteorological datas, which are between 2009-2014, of cities. For the cities, two systems have been designed that VRV/VRF are with air cooling and with water cooling and COPs of these systems have been determined as 4.05 and 5.62, respectively. When examining exergy analysis of designed systems, average exergy destructions of VRV/VRF systems with air cooling and with water cooling have been obtained as 10.152 kW and 8.015 kW for İstanbul, respectively; average exergy destructions of VRV/VRF systems with air cooling and with water cooling have been obtained as 9.764 kW and 8.575 kW for Bodrum, respectively. According to exergy analysis conclusions, cost analysis of two systems have been performed. It has been seen that the period of redemption of VRV/VRF system with water cooling has been 7 years when comparing with VRV/VRF system with air cooling.
