Abstract (EN)
This study aims to examine the acute effect of blood flow restriction (BFR) training on certain hypertrophy-related bio-markers in bodybuilders. The participants of the study were 12 men who have been actively working as bodybuilders for least one years. The average age of the participating athletes was 28.08±6.38 years, and their average height was 177.54±7.24 cm, with an average body weight of 82.83±7.84 kg, and average body fat rate of 14.40±5.00. Crossover design was adopted in the study. The participants entred famirilization, hypertrophy training and BFR training in order to cross over study design in three sperated days. The BFR training was carried out as 30% severity of one-repetition maximum (1RM), 30-15-15-15 repetitions while the hypertrophy training was performed as 70-72,5-75% of 1RM 3 sets * 10 repetition with 1-minute intervals between sets. A metronome was used to take muscle actions under control so that they are concentric for 2 seconds and eccentric for 2 seconds. During the BFR training, pressure was applied on the proximal section of both thighs of participants using a pneumatic tourniquet with a width of 13,5 cm (Reiser, Germany). SPSS version 23 (SPSS, Chicago, IL, US) package program was used for statistical analysis of the study. Two-way repeated measures analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used to determine the difference between the repeated measurements obtained at two different time points in dependent groups. All analysis was run with a confidence interval of p<0.05.
