The relationality of law and violence in Walter Benjamin's political philosophy

This work focuses primarily on Walter Benjamin's views on law and violence and the scope of the two phenomena in political philosophy. In this study, we tried to question why the existing legal systems cannot provide justice based on Benjamin's criticism of violence. For this purpose, we have claimed that due to the fact of violence at the origin of natural law and positive law, which are the two schools of philosophy of law, it has recently taken on a metaphysical character and we have tried to reveal how this character manifests in the fields of power. For this reason, we tried to trace Benjamin's understanding of "mesianic violence" and the opportunities it provides for how justice can manifest with this understanding.
