Teachers' opinions on the use of web 2.0 tools in İDKAB courses

The integration of Web 2.0 tools in educational settings has garnered significant attention in recent years, offering new opportunities for enhancing teaching and learning experiences. This study aims to explore teachers' views on the use of Web 2.0 tools in İDKAB (İlköğretim Din Kültürü ve Ahlak Bilgisi) lessons, focusing on their perceptions, attitudes, and experiences in utilizing these tools to facilitate distance education. The research employed a mixed-methods approach, combining surveys and interviews to gather comprehensive data from İDKAB teachers. The survey questionnaire included items related to teachers' familiarity with Web 2.0 tools, their perceptions of the benefits and challenges associated with their use, and their attitudes towards integrating these tools into İDKAB lessons. The interviews aimed to delve deeper into the teachers' experiences, exploring their instructional practices, perceived effectiveness of Web 2.0 tools, and recommendations for improvement. The findings revealed that İDKAB teachers generally possessed a positive attitude towards the use of Web 2.0 tools, recognizing their potential to enhance student engagement, promote collaboration, and provide access to diverse learning resources. Additionally, the study identified a correlation between teachers' attitudes towards Web 2.0 tools and their perceptions of the benefits of distance education. Based on the findings, recommendations are provided to support İDKAB institutions in effectively integrating Web 2.0 tools. These recommendations include comprehensive professional development programs, institutional support in terms of resources and technical assistance, curriculum alignment, student training and support, research and evaluation, collaboration and partnerships, and policy and funding support. Overall, this study contributes to the understanding of teachers' perspectives on the use of Web 2.0 tools in İDKAB lessons and provides valuable insights for educational stakeholders in enhancing distance education practices in İDKAB classrooms.
