Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this research is to improve middle school students' skills in reading, drawing, and interpreting tables and graphs using Web 2.0 tools. The sample consisted of 6th-grade students attending a village school in the Başmakçı district of Afyonkarahisar province. This study was an action research study, and action plans were developed and implemented regularly in each lesson. Data collection tools used in this study were student pretests and posttests, student diaries, researcher diaries, validity committee audio recordings, lesson video recordings, and semi-structured interview questions. Data analysis and collection were reviewed and summarized regularly each week. The results of the research indicate that students concretized abstract science concepts through Web 2.0 tools, by conducting experiments, observing, and actively participating in interactive learning environments. Students who initially struggled with technology and graphing skills acquired these skills and improved with teacher guidance and peer support. Students gained self-confidence in reading, drawing, and interpreting tables and graphs, and noted that these skills were useful not only in science but also in mathematics and other subjects. Additionally, group work and activities supported by Web 2.0 tools have been found to increase collaboration and motivation among students. Teacher observations and student journals indicate that learning environments using Web 2.0 tools increase students' interest and participation in science and promote the retention and meaningfulness of learning. The research has demonstrated the effectiveness of technology-supported educational approaches in developing students' scientific literacy and 21st-century skills. iv In conclusion, the effective use of Web 2.0 tools in science education supports students' experiential learning and contributes positively to the development of their skills in creating and interpreting tables and graphs. 2025, xii + 108 pages Keywords: Web 2.0 tools, Science courses, Graphic and table reading, drawing and interpreting, action research.
