Abstract (EN)
The 21st century, with its rapidly developing technology, is bringing about significant and visible changes in all areas of life. These changing conditions are leading to both an increase and a transformation in the qualifications expected of individuals. At this point, the responsibility of equipping individuals to adapt to these changes falls on the education system. The Social Studies course is considered one of the most effective subjects in fostering well-rounded individuals through its focus on skills, values, and learning outcomes. This study, conducted within the scope of the Social Studies course, focuses on Web 2.0-based activities, Web 2.0 awareness, and students' attitudes toward the course. In this context, various activities related to the learning unit "Our Home: Earth" were designed using Web 2.0 tools to be implemented during the instructional process. The study employed a quasi-experimental design, one of the quantitative research methods. As data collection tools, the "Awareness Scale for Web 2.0 Tools" developed by Arslan and Görgülü (2021), and the "Social Studies Course Attitude Scale" developed by Çetinkaya and Hatay Uçar (2019) were used. The results of the implementation carried out within the selected learning unit show that the use of Web 2.0 tools in the Social Studies course positively influenced students' attitudes, contributed to the creation of student-centered learning environments by increasing student engagement, and supported student motivation. Keywords: Dıgıtalızatıon, realization, social studies, attitude, web 2.0 tools.
