Women's impact on peacemaking processes in the Basque case

This study focuses on the analysis of women's contributions to the peace process in the Basque region of Spain. The thesis presented below is composed of six main parts. The first two portions are about introducing women's role in the peace process in the Basque conflict and its brief historical background. The second portion of the paper consists of two connected parts: theory and method. The theoretical framework part of the qualitative approach looks at the root causes and inner dynamics of the Basque women's role from the beginning to the end of the conflict. The method part, on the other hand, explores the reason why case study research is important for the understanding of the Basque conflict. The paper concludes by bringing together a case study and the analysis of findings for a clear understanding of the Basque women's impact and strategic interest in the decision-making process regarding the conflict, its repercussions, and the creation of a society without violence in the broadest sense.
