?The farms? in the Sanjack of Aydın in the XVIth and XVIIth centuries

Aydın Livası being an important liva of Anatolian Province between XVI and XVII. centuries, has maintained its value in every period of history in terms of its geographical location. In this thesis, farms of Aydın Livası which were significant settlements of Big Menderes Basin between XVI. and XVII. centuries, were dealt with. `Çifthane? system forming the basis of Ottoman economy was handled generally in terms of Aydın Livası, important farm settlements of the region were determined and the contribution of mentioned settlements to socio-economic structure of the region was evaluated.Features of agricultural production and activities in Aydın Livası, change and transformation of these and production relationships form the main goal of this thesis.In pre-research made in Prime-Ministery Ottoman Archive, the related document and notebook were found. In Prime-Ministery Ottoman Archive, the data of register of title deeds giving detailed information about farms in Aydın Livası were transcripted and evaluated.
