An analysis of zencir murabbas composed in the 17th century in terms of lyrics, usul and form

The aim of this study is to investigate the traditional structural features of murabbas composed in zencir usul. In the first part of the study, different representations of the zencir usul in the old and new theoretical sources were examined and interpreted by examining the examples shown. In the following part, all of the zencir murabbas composed in the 17th century, which are the oldest surviving examples today, were examined in detail in terms of their lyrics/prosody, usul/form and all the findings were explained with the help of tables, graphs and charts. This study also entails a notation template to facilitate the performance by demonstrating the lyrics/prosody, usul/form features of zencir murabba.
