Consumption object and readymade object in the XX. century Turkish art

Abstract (EN)

In this study Western and Turkish artists? use of objects and consumption materials under the effects of consumer society has been examined.Rise of industry and then arousing of consumer society has created a new type of person. Mass production technological developments take the art to a new period of technique material and subject. In the first part of the study in general it is mentioned that industry and technological developments which affect 20th century in terms of the relationship between society and art.In the second part of the study, firstly in general, artists who studied the ready use object and consumption object in Western art. In Western art, in Cubism the use of readymade objects starting with collage and afterwards the artists under the effect of pop art and conceptual art with Dadaism have been discussed. In the last part of the study, the developments of Turkish art are mentioned briefly. After 1967 the works of artists? who studied readymade object and consumption object and their use of material are examined.In this study which has qualitative feature source about the subject is done. Besides, it is made use of sample paints with one of the descriptive method that is the technique of searching for publication.Keywords: Consumption, Readymade Object, Society, Painting
