A descri̇pti̇ve study about the effect of character on the leadershi̇p type expectati̇on of the (Y) generati̇on

The aim of this study is to determine the leadership style expectations of the Generation Y and to identify the individual characteristics of Generation Y in this direction. In this context, Generation Y-management relations and leadership style expectations trial, Generation Y has been assessed under the perspective of management and executive management functions. In order to identify the personality traits of individuals belonging to Generation Y Quick Big Five Personality Test, Generation Y-management relations and leadership style to determine the expectations of the participants to the Leadership Practices Inventory was applied. 212 participants with the help of the members of Generation Y individuals' personality traits and leadership are intended to identify expectations. The universe of this study belong to Generation Y employees who live in Mersin between 18-36 years of age constitute individual. Random sampling method was used to obtain the data from the participants. This study consists of seven chapters. The concept of generation in the first part, the second part of the concept of Generation Y and the third section describes the concept of leadership with subtitles. The fourth part of the study has focused on the relationship between leadership and Y generations and factors affecting each other has been described with examples in the literature. In the fifth part of the purpose of the research objectives, methods and analysis of information is given on the techniques used. In the sixth part that containing findings and reviews of a general evaluation of the results obtained with the data analysis of the results and recommendations are written with literature support. As a result of this survey, personality traits of leadership style is effective on expectations that the personality traits of Generation Y leadership style to influence the expectations, it showed that marital status and education level of the Y generation belonging to individuals have an impact on leadership style of perception at seventh section.
