Abstract (EN)

It is of great importance to learn formulaic expressions for individuals learning Turkish. Especially for people who are just starting to learn a language, knowing the most frequently used phrases in that language provides great convenience in maintaining mutual communication. In Turkish teaching textbooks, corpus can be used as a guide in teaching formulaic expressions that are suitable for the level of the learner. Thanks to the corpus, a classification can be made according to their level by looking at the total frequency of the phrases in different sources. In this study, formulaic expressions at the levels of A1, A2, B1, B2 and C1+C2 in the Istanbul Turkish Teaching Set were determined by the document analysis method and the frequency of these formulaic expressions in the Turkish written corpus was examined. The aim of the research is to examine how the frequencies of the formulaic expressions in the corpus are reflected in the course books at different levels in the Turkish teaching set. As a result, it was determined that the formulaic expressions in the Istanbul Turkish Teaching Set do not have parallelism with the corpus and that the variety of formulaic words at different levels is insufficient.
