Özet (EN)

In this study; The effects of fluent reading strategies on reading comprehension skills and reading anxiety in teaching Turkish as a foreign language were investigated. The participants of this study are 60 foreign students that studying Turkish as a foreign language, (30 experimental and 30 control groups) at TÖMER, Gazi University. During the implementation process of this study, fluent reading strategies were applied to the experimental group for three lesson hours in reading lessons for six weeks. The current program was applied to the control group. An explanatory sequential mixed method was adopted in the research, in which quantitative and qualitative approaches were used together. Descriptive statistics, dependent groups t test and ANOVA were used to analyze the quantitative data obtained in the study. Descriptive analysis and content analysis were used to analyze the data obtained from the semi-structured interview form. As a result of the research, it was determined that fluent reading strategies had a positive effect on reading comprehension skills and reading anxiety. Additionally, it was determined that the students in the experimental group had positive opinions about fluent reading strategies.
