Abstract (EN)
Literary texts contribute to the teaching of foreign languages in many aspects such as facilitating the language teaching process and ensuring the permanence of the language learned. This has made literary texts one of the most important elements of foreign language teaching in all approaches and methods used. In this study the aim is to examine the instructors' views on the reasons and benefits of using literary texts while teaching Turkish as a foreign language and language features of literary texts to be used and to determine what kind of texts are used in which language level and for which basic language skills by the instructors. In this context, a semi-structured interview form was prepared and applied to 50 Turkish instructors working in Suruç Temporary Shelter Center under the project "Promoting Integration of Syrian Children into Turkish Education System" in Şanlıurfa. 50 instructors, whose opinions were reviewed, stated that using literary text in teaching Turkish as a foreign language contributes to teaching Turkish, improves language skills, provides cultural transfer, and the language characteristics of the literary texts to be used should be simple, clear, appropriate to the level of students and aesthetic pleasure. They also expressed their opinion about which literary genres they use in language levels and basic language skills.
