The examination of instructors' views on the use of cartoons in Turkish language teaching

Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is examining the views of Turkish teachers on Turkish teaching methods as a foreign language. The research is based on a simple descriptive analysis method which is a qualitative research method. In the context of this method, the interview technique was used from qualitative research methods. This form was sent to the instructors via 'Google form'. The working group of this research is 45 instructors who are working in Temporary Education Centres and Public Education Centres in the cope of Project on Promoting Integration of Syrian Children into Turkish Education System (PICTES). The research is limited to the views of the 45 instructors as it has a simple descriptive analysis feature. 26 instructors are female and 19 instructors are male. The sample of this research is a systematic sample. In the research, the instructors' views were shown as Ö1, Ö2, Ö3 and so on. The 45 instructors, whose opinions were examined, stated that use of cartoons in Turkish teaching contributes to the teaching of Turkish, makes the learning process fun and plays an important role in the culture transfer. In addition to this, they stated that the cartoons which will be used in Turkish teaching to foreigners should have clear and understandable language, include cultural elements and values and be suitable for learners' levels, be without negative subjects and be not only based on entertainment.
