Özet (EN)

In this study we aim to manufacture YAG-Al2O3 composite by using aluminum nitrate . We start our project with powder production.This solution precipitated with (NH4)2CO3 and wash with (NH4)CO3+H2O and C3H7OH respectively three times to remove NH4NO3 (keep pH 7,5-8,5) then dried for 10 hours.The grinding done by attrition mill for 6 hour using isopropanol. An alumina-YAG composite powder having a 20 vol.% composition (AY20) has been synthesized at 1400,1500 and 1600 ?C by precipitation from nitrate.The density of the materials measurement by an Archimedes set-up. We reached the full density (100%) for the samples which sintered at 1600 0C and also for at 1500 0C (99,95%) and 97,97% density for at 1400 0C.Mechanical test (Vickers hardness (HV) and fracture toughness (KIC) ) were performed to determine the strength of the composites. Microstructure was examined with Scanning Electron Microscope. The elastic properties (Young?s modules (E) , Poisson coefficient (µ) and Shear modulus(G) ) of the sintered materials were determined by ultrasonic measurements . After all these measurements YAG-Al2O3 composite sintered at 1600 0C had the best properties.Keywords : Deposition, Nanocomposite, YAG-Alumina composite.
