Yahya Haqqi and his book titled Madrasatul-Masrah

ABSTRACT Yahya Haqqi and his book titled Madrasatul-Masrah Yahya Hakkî, one of the pioneers of modern Egyptian literature in the field of short stories, was born on January 7, 1905 in Cairo, Egypt. Yahya Hakkî, who was originally a jurist, worked in law and administration in Egypt for a while. It was more influenced by Russian literature than the English and French literature of the period. He started literature by writing short stories in 1922 and 1923. His short stories were published in the newspaper al- Fajr ve es-Siyase. His close circle has made important contributions to his becoming a writer. One of them is his older brother İbrahim. Yahya Hakkî had the opportunity to meet closely with the great masters and writers of the period, and also had the opportunity to exchange information on literary matters with them. Yahya Hakkî is one of the members of the school called "el-Medresetu'l Hadise". Yahya Hakkî tried different techniques together in his works and used realism and symbolism together. Yahya Hakkî's Medresetu'l Mesrah contains his articles between 1943-1972. The subject of the work is theater and theater artists. There are also literary criticism articles and information about Arab and foreign theaters in the work. In the work, there is information about the theater and actors of Egypt, where he was born.
