A study on Yakup Kadri Karaosmanoğlu's life and stories

Yakup Kadri Karaosmanoğlu was born in Cairo, in 1889 and lived in here till six years old. The writer, coming to Manisa with his mather and sitling, passed a great port of his childhood in here In 1903, while he was in İzmir High School, the writer started to deal with the litareture, and found the opportunity to meet many valuable writers in that period. As well as becoming a diplomat, story and novel writer, Yakup Kadri Karaosmanoğlu reflected the alterations that the Turkish Society's passed from Tanzimat period to Today into his works via his articles, too. The writer started his art life at Fecr-i Âtî community, and later he headed for from individualistic art understanding to social art understanding. The writer, coming to the forefront with his novelistic, at the same time, gave works in the types of memory, prosaic poem, essay and theatre, too. The writer's the most prolific years in story writing are in 1921 and 1922, and his first story (AWoman Issue) took place in Wealth of Sciences (Servet-i Fünûn) Magazine and its 998th number on 8 of July in 1910 date. The writer's stories have been collected at the works, called "A Consequence, mercy and Civil War Stories." In his stories which are the subject of the thesis, a strong observation power draws attention. Childhood memories and national struggle period, Turkish society's changing phases, made a resource of his stories. The writer transferred those sources to the reader with fluent language and vitality. The aim of this study is to analyze the stories of the writer, who is contributing the literature efficiently until 1974 when the date of his death, and is to determine his place in the world of literature.
