Abstract (EN)
Lean production was developed in Japan after World War II in order to overcome of capital shortage. Those sortages required companies to extend working hours, to intensify working hours and to reduce sallaries. The style of the American automotive industry production became a referance for Japan after World War II. Eiji Toyoda, who is a parter and an engineer in Toyota, founded in 1937, visited Ford factory in 1950 which is in Detroit and he realized that Fordist/Mass Production would never be successful in Japan Industry System in America reduced production costs by producing large numbers from a limited models. That was a typical American style, not a Japanish. The aim of the new system was to produce limited numbers from a wide range of models and reduce production costs (Ohno, 1996;40).After some experiments, lean production systems, which sometimes called just in time production, Toyota Production and non-stock production, developed in Japan in the late 40?s. After that it became a populer production and management system in United States. The purpose of this thesis is to exemine rapid industrilization with the development of lean production, harder working conditions and whether technology constitute stress over workers. In first part, philosphy of lean production, neccecities, basic features and industrial relations on lean production are mentioned. In second part, basic features of lean production are explained in details. In third part, stres, job related stress and factors that are caused by stres, are explained and the effects of stres based on lean production are mentioned. In forth part, Structural Equation modelling is explained basicly and lean production?s effects on stres are analysed according to this modelling and outcomes are explained. Keywords: Lean Production, Philosphy of Lean Production, Structural Equation Modelling, Stres.
