Abstract (EN)

Phenomena in a person's subconscious constantly develop and change depending on the living conditions of the individual and society. Human beings, who are social beings, are affected by developing technology, industrialization, urbanization, war, etc. These factors have deeply affected individuals, causing them to become isolated and distant from society. These phenomena, which deeply affected artists during the development of painting, manifested themselves in the works of art. In the artworks made in connection with this situation, concepts such as happiness, sadness, pain, loneliness, alienation and chaos were used as the main themes in the works. The theme of loneliness has been addressed in different styles and forms in every period of painting. Artists subconsciously shaped the impressions and experiences they received from nature and showed their emotional states in various ways through images. In this context, based on unique experiences, the image of the ship was examined in the context of the object-nature relationship, and a pictorial language was tried to be created with the painting works. The research consists of three parts; In the first part, the problem situation, problem statement, purpose of the research, its importance, assumptions, limitations, method, population and sample are mentioned. In the second chapter, a literature review was conducted to establish a connection between the concepts of loneliness, image and object-nature, and various examples were examined and the relevant periods were touched upon; In the third section, the analysis of the painting works made by the researcher was made. As a result of the research; that the concept of loneliness is often linked to the mental state of the artist. The defense mechanism created by human beings against the negative situations they experience may be effective in driving them into loneliness as a reaction. It has been observed that artists reflect these emotional states, hidden in the subconscious from past to present, in their works with great mastery.
