Abstract (EN)

Public policies of local governments are one of the most developing areas recently in Turkey. A main goal of these policies is to improve local populations? the socio-economic and education levels and to provide practical information that they can adapt to their life. This trend has started in the big cities later on is reflected in relatively small cities. One of them is Yalova.In 2002, Carnation Houses which are one of the most important institutions for Yalova were opened. The main goal of these institutions is to improve and strengthen women?s position in life by passing them a certain educational process. Thousands of women in Yalova have pursued the courses presented in this context. In this study, the impact levels of courses offered by Carnation Houses on women?s quality of life are discussed sociological, psychological and economic aspects.Study is shaped by questionnaires, interviews and observation technics. Research results have shown that courses have positive effects for women. The most important of these effects are to acquire a social environment of women, to make them feel good psychologically, to become a person who can produce in accordance with her capabilities. In this thesis, it has been shown that such courses increase the women?s quality of life by doing analyzes on these issues.
