Özet (EN)
This thesis is to reveal the hypothetical nature of "retranslation" which forms a new research topic in translation studies by scrutinizing its assumptions and follow the presence of translator in retranslation. While trying to identify the place of the translator among the dynamics of retranslation, intertextuality in translation and the translator's intertextual baggage are also highlighted within the context of "paratextual" and "intertextual elements." The thesis comprises of four main chapters: "Retranslation", "Intertextuality and Intertextuality in Translation", "Brave New World as the first case study" and "Darkness at Noon as the second case study".
