Abstract (EN)
Offshore platforms, oil and gas tanks in the ships, submarine and submersibles, bodies of ships, and coastal structures such as piers are important components of lifeline and modern industrial facilities. In these structures, fire is an inevitable position, and protecting it from fire takes an important place. therefore, it is an important issue to make these structures functional after the fire, quickly and with little cost. This study was to investigate the effect of verified Ani-Fire Paint (100, 200 and 400 microns) on cylindrical tanks after post-fire in order to examine the buckling and post-buckling of the cylindrical tanks. Herein, post-fire was introduced at different temperatures (300-450℃-600℃ (BS EN 1991-1-2:2002)). 22 laboratory specimens in three groups with verified Ani-Fire Paint and different Temperature under external pressure are examined. The results of testing under different theories and codes were compared. This study shows that inside or inside-outside 100-micron painted specimens did not show any difference with each other in the buckling load. However, when the paint thickness is 200-microns, the cylindrical tanks painted inside and outside are resistant to fire up to 450 degrees and behave like a ideal model. Furthermore, when the paint thickness is 400-microns, the cylindrical tanks painted outside are resistant to fire up to 450 degrees, because the collapse loads of these specimens are bigger than the overall buckling load of the perfect model. So, these can be used after 450 temperature fire.
