Özet (EN)
In this study, the production of green methanol using the annual 56089 tons of CO₂ emissions from a factory has been examined technically and economically. The necessary 61 MW energy was obtained by first establishing a wind turbine power plant and then a solar panel field for green methanol production. The aim of the facility is to produce 5 ton of renewable methanol per hour using captured 56089 tons of CO₂ emissions and green hydrogen. While hydrogen is produced using renewable electricity through water electrolysis, carbon dioxide is separated from the factory's chimney exhaust gas using an amine-based CO₂ absorption system. Detailed economic analysis was conducted based on data obtained from process modeling and optimization using the Aspen Plus simulation tool. The cost of methanol obtained from solar energy is determined to be LCOM 1003,21 €, LCOE 72,65 €/MWh, and the cost of methanol obtained from wind energy is LCOM 658,84 €, LCOE 44,49 €/MWh. However, the cost of methanol from fossil fuels is only 450 €/ton. This indicates that currently, methanol produced from solar and wind energy has not reached the competitive level of methanol obtained from fossil fuels. In this study, it is suggested that the future competitiveness of green methanol production against fossil fuels relies on advancing technology, decreasing costs of renewable energy, efficient electrolysis methods, and penalty policies for CO₂ emissions. Key Words: Wind power, Electrolysis, CO₂ air capture, Green methanol, Renewable hydrogen.
