Abstract (EN)

BIM (Building Information Modeling) is the process of creating and utilizing interrelated information about a building or facility's own and / or throughout the project's life cycle. The construction sector, which is a common area of work with different disciplines, is a sector where momentary carelessness can cause huge and irreversible problems. Little mistakes can cause major threats including material and moral damages. Thereby making the regulations on continuous improvement, system control and management function inevitable. Starting with the usual design systems in architecture and engineering, the technological tools and equipment produced up to date offer many possibilities. New possibilities arising from the introduction of computeraided design concept into architecture also change the existing material and moral damage conditions in many respects. According to the study, the difficulties arising in the design phase in the transition from the conventional computer based design systems to the Building Information Modeling (BIM) was identified and solutions were suggested. It can be said that this technology will be used even more widely in architecture and construction industry in the future, considering that the solutions of the identified problems can also be found within the framework of Building Information Modeling (BIM). Therefore, this research explains how the Building Information Modeling (BIM) is used in the application phase and what kind of facilities it provides to us and this situation is supported by a simulation system. Also; this is the first research of its kind to fill this gap in the Turkish construction sector.
