Abstract (EN)
More than eighty percent of international goods and trade services are realized through the seas. It is a cost and time saving feature by shortening the trade route for samples of the world's canals. The increase in the trade volume of the Turkish Straits is an alternative watercourse team due to the intensification of the ship traffic leading to shipwrecks and ship accidents. It was determined by the 1936 Montreux Straits Convention. In Istanbul Bosphorus, it can be difficult to pass by accident types and some sizes of vessels. It is very likely that damage to vessels carrying dangerous goods from the Straits is possible. Thanks to national waterway project, the reorganization of the transition system in the Istanbul Bosphorus has come to the agenda. The watercourse project, which is expressed as Canal Istanbul, is planned as an alternative watercourse to the Istanbul Bosphorus. In this study, the history and structure of the important canals in the world, the impact of strategic positions of the transition systems in the country and Kanal Istanbul were examined. In the first chapter of the work a conceptual framework was established; in the second chapter important canals in maritime trade; Suez, Panama, Kiel, Corinth, Welland Don-Volga, openly Persian, Israeli and Nicaragua canals were studied. In the third chapter structure of alternative watercourse Project for Canal Istanbul whose plan to be made and its position ,were surveyed, the legal system of the passage system and Canal İstanbul in Montreux and Regulations and the Bosphorus were examined.
