Abstract (EN)

This research aims to examine the effects of artificial intelligence applications on the development of linguistic creativity of high-achieving students in grades 9, 10, 11 and 12 at the School of Applied Technology in Um El Quwain, United Arab Emirates. The research is a qualitative research conducted at the School of Applied Technology in Umm El Quwain, United Arab Emirates. The study group consists of 16 students with high success rates studying at the school. Data were collected through a semi-structured interview form consisting of open- ended questions. Thematic content analysis method was used in the analysis of the data. The research revealed generally positive results. The participants stated that artificial intelligence reduced writing difficulties, increased fluency, resolved idea blockages and played an inspiring role. It was stated that it supported linguistic creativity by enriching the vocabulary, and provided self-confidence and originality by alleviating writing anxiety. Efficiency, creative thinking and error reduction are the main motivations. However, it has been argued that excessive dependence weakens style, is inadequate in emotional texts, and has limited long- term effects. It has been found to be both inspiring and limiting in creativity, and technical difficulties and the risk of dependency have drawn attention. Although artificial intelligence suggestions are a source of inspiration, they do not fully reflect personal style. The suggestions include personalization, training modules, and supervised use. Artificial intelligence can increase the potential of these students with conscious use, but individual effort and originality should be preserved.
