Abstract (EN)

This thesis explores the impact of lifestyle and values on the adoption of sharing economy (SE) applications and services, offering a novel perspective by integrating user lifestyle attributes and values with technological adoption. Employing an integrated approach, the study first utilizes qualitative content analysis to identify key themes within existing SE literature, followed by a quantitative examination to empirically test these observations. The research reveals significant influences of lifestyle attributes such as materialism, change-seeking, consumer spending self-control and philanthropy, along with personal values on behavioural intentions of users to adopt SE services. These findings not only bridge a notable gap in the current literature by linking user lifestyle attributes and values with SE adoption but also provide practical implications for platform developers, service providers, and policymakers to enhance user engagement and design more effective business strategies. The study contributes to both academic knowledge and practical applications in the rapidly evolving field of the SE.
