Abstract (EN)
The neighborhood is one of the most special units in society since its existence due to its cultural and spatial pattern. With the industrial revolution, rapid population growth has also led to rapid change in cities. One of the most affected units of this change is the neighborhoods. The strong social relations, solidarity, tolerance and belonging in the Ottoman Quarters, known as the traditional neighborhood, have lost meaning over time, creating the new concept of the neighborhood that was born after globalization. In this study, the factors that have caused the loss of some emotions in the new neighborhood have been described, and the traditional concept of the neighborhood has been shown to be a direct relationship between belonging, place and community.
