Abstract (EN)

In this study, the effect of age and gender on the acoustic characteristics of voice was investigated. The study included 27 women and 25 men between the ages of 20-40, 22 women and 22 men between the ages of 41-60, 15 women and 18 men between the ages of 61 and older. Perceptual voice assessment was made to the participants. Voice Evaluation Form, Voice Handicap Index-10, Voice-Related Quality of Life Scale, Reflux Symptom Index were applied to the participants. The outcome data were collected and analyzed. Acoustic analysis of the data was performed by MDVP software. Aerodynamic analysis was measured with a stopwatch. According to the findings, it was observed that the fundamental frequency of women differed significantly between the ages of 20-40 and the ages of 61 and older groups. The fundamental frequency parameter of the ages of 20-40 women is higher than the ages of 61 and older women. The jitter value of men increased in tune with the age. The jitter parameter of the ages of 20-40 men is lower than the ages of 41-60 and the ages of 61 and older men. The jitter parameter of the ages of 41-60 men is lower than the ages of 61 and older men. According to the results, it was concluded that age has an effect on the fundamental frequency in women and on the jitter parameter in men. Keywords: Age, Fundamental frequency, Jitter, Noise to harmonic ratio, Shimmer.
