Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this study is to determine whether the adolescents studying at boarding regional secondary schools have different characteristics in their attachment to their parents, peers or schools depending on their personal or demographic characteristics or being boarding or extern and also some other characteristics related to them. The research has been carried out according to the general screening model. The universe of the study consists of adolescents studying at the boarding regional secondary schools in kastamonu province in spring semester of the 2017-2018 academic year. The sample of the study has consisted of 268 adolescents (136 girls, 132 boys) from different grade levels determined by appropriate sampling method. with a mean age of X̄ = 11.50 (S = 0.79) of 13 different boarding regional secondary schools. As a data collection tool; the parent-friend attachment ınventory, school attachment scale for children and adolescents and the Information Collection Form prepared by the researcher have been used. In the analysis of the data t-test, one-way analysis of variance and Scheffe test techniques have been used. In addition, Pearson Correlation Analysis has been used to determine the relationship among the scores of attachment to the parents, peers and school of adolescents attending boarding regional secondary schools. As a result of the survey; it has been found that the levels of adolescents' attachment to mother, father, peer and school has differed according to the age, class level, parenting, being boarding or extern, length of boarding duration, reason of staying in boarding, willingness to attend boarding school and frequency of family visiting whereas it has not differed according to gender. In addition, when the relationships among the attachment scores to the mother, father, peer and school have been examined, it has been seen that there has been a positive and significant relationship between the attachment to the mother and father similar to the relationship between attachment to the peer and school.
