Examination of biofilm formation in nasal polypozis patients

EXAMINATION OF BIOFILM FORMATION IN NASAL POLYPOZIS PATIENTSDr.Alper YÜKSELNasal polypozis is a kind of disease in which the pathophysiologic mechanicsms are notclear and there are not enough evidence which can explain how this disease occurs.Reoccurences can be seen even after the surgical and intensive medical treatment.Because ofthese reasons treatment of nasal polypozis is a great problem either for the doctors or thepatientsIn our study we have examined the relation between nasal polypozis and biofilmformation.There are a few data explaining this relation in the literature.We examined 23 nasalpolyp tissue and 20 concha bulloza tissue as a control grup. We found biofilm formation in%82.6 of the polyp tissues.There was no biofilm formation in the control group and thisdifference is statistically significant.
