Abstract (EN)
This study investigated the effect of using Web 2.0 tools in teaching seventh grade geometry and measurement learning field on students' academic achievement, anxiety, and motivation. A quantitative study was conducted using a quasi-experimental design with pretest-posttest control group which is one of the experimental research models. The research was conducted during the 2024-2025 academic year with a total of 40 students, 20 in the experimental group and 20 in the control group, who were enrolled in the seventh grade of a public middle school in the Central District of Yozgat Province, over 40 class hours. The lesson plans designed by the researcher were implemented with Web 2.0 tools for the experimental group and with existing teaching methods for the control group. The existing teaching lesson plans were created using textbooks, while the Web 2.0-supported lesson plans were created by adding Web 2.0 tools to the existing teaching lesson plans. The data for the study were collected using academic achievement tests, motivation, and anxiety scales. A total of 11 Web 2.0 tools were used during the implementation process, including Wordwall, Blogger, Kahoot, Quizizz, Geogebra, Powtoon, Google Forms, Google Classroom, Bubbl.us, Youtube and Canva. The SPSS software package was used to analyze the data. According to the pre-test findings of the study, it was determined that the academic achievements, mathematics-related anxiety, and motivation of the experimental and control groups were equivalent at the beginning. The post-test findings of the study revealed a significant difference in favor of the experimental group in terms of students' academic achievement, anxiety related to mathematics lessons, and motivation compared to the control group. In conclusion, it was determined that the use of Web 2.0 tools in teaching seventh grade geometry and measurement increased students' academic achievement and motivation and reduced their anxiety. It was recommended that the use of Web 2.0 tools in education be increased.
