Abstract (EN)
In this study, it was aimed to investigate the relationship between cognitive control and flexibility, emotion regulation and problem solving skills and impulsivity in problematic eating behaviors. A total of 283 people, 190 women and 93 men, participated in the study. The average age of the participants is 37. Eating behaviors of the participants Three Factor Eating Questionnaire (TFEQ-TR 21) and REZZY eating disorders scale (SCOFF), cognitive control and flexibility skills Cognitive Control and Flexibility (CCFQ), cognitive emotion regulation strategies Cognitive Emotion Regulation Scale (CERQ), impulsivity Barrat Impulsivity Scale Short Forum (BIS-11-SF), problem solving skills were evaluated with the Problem Solving Inventory (PSI). In addition, since the study was carried out during the Covid-19 pandemic, the Corona Virus Anxiety Scale Short Form (BCS) and Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) were also included in the study. In the study, Structural Equation Models were created in order to better understand how problematic eating behaviors are related to each other and to the variables mentioned, and to better understand the role of cognitive factors in the development and maintenance of eating disorders. Descriptive statistics, Pearson Correlation Analysis, Independent Groups t-Test and Structural Equation Model were used in the analysis of the data. As a result of the analyzes, it was found that there were differences in the relationship of the TFEQ-TR 21 subscales with REZZY, BCI, BDI, BIS-11-SF and PSI. In addition, as a result of SEM analysis, it was seen that uncontrolled eating had a mediator effect on the relationship between emotional eating and eating disorder.
