Abstract (EN)
Yemen is a region that has been a struggle area of the Ottoman State for many years. The Ottoman Empire has dealt with these problems from the beginning to the end of Yemen's rule. Ottomans who wanted to dominate this region because of internal and external reasons had great losses. They have not ignored here even during times when they were dealing with other issues. Therefore, although Yemen was a remote province, it was not separated from the provinces in Anatolia. So that, the sufferings of the Ottoman State's losses in Yemen is felt even today. The history of this region which was unforgettable despite many years is important for us. Yemen domination of the Ottoman Empire, which started in the 16th century, continued with interruptions until the beginning of the 20th century. Certainly, archival documents are important to illuminate this period. However these documents may also be inadequate in some cases. Resources have importance to close this gap. They provide us a better understanding of events. These resources belong to the days that the Ottoman State held in the administration of Yemen. Although these works are few in number, they begin from the first period of Ottoman domination and continue until the 20th century. In the 19th and 20th Century number of works increased. These are manuscripts or printed works by the Ottoman State officials. Some of these officials published their works during the Republican period. In this study, collective literature review about the history of Yemen is aimed by examining manuscripts, printed works and also current works.
