Abstract (EN)
Objective : This research was planned to determine burnout levels and affecting factors in nurses who have just started working. Method : This study was carried out with 1068 nurses, which were newly started working at Ankara City Hospital in the province of Ankara, with a working period of 6 months to 3 years. Personal Information Form and Copenhagen Burnout Inventory were used for the confidentiality of the research data. Kolmogorov evaluated the data as normal with the Smirnov test. T-test for independent groups, post-hoc analysis to detect changes, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), were performed. The significance value was accepted as p<0.05. Results : The burnout level of the newly recruited nurses was found to be high with a score of 57,8. Nurses who have just started the job, the single, not choosing the nursing profession voluntarily, working in the intensive care unit, being dissatisfied with the unit, not receiving orientation training, not receiving colleague support, not doing any professional activity, thinking of leaving the job, caring for COVID-19 patients increased their burnout and burnout sub-dimension levels, and sex, education status and executive support did not affect them. Conclusion : In our study, while the burnout level of the newly recruited nurses was found to be high, it was determined that both individual and professional factors affected the burnout level of the newly recruited nurses. These findings may contribute to reducing the burnout of newly recruited nurses and increasing the quality of patient care by enabling nurse managers to make institutional arrangements.
