Abstract (EN)

The sociological, political and economic events that have taken place since the 1950s have had great repercussions around the world, and as a result of these events, great changes have begun to occur in societies. The idea that freedom and independence is interrupted by 'religion' has led young people, who cannot find answers to their questions in the current situation, to new searches. Thought styles, which have psychological, social, political and economic aspects, emerged as a result of this search, were accepted as belief systems by the relevant groups and were called "religious" movement. Homosexuality is studied as a social group in sociology and as a psychological case in psychology. In the history of religions, homosexuality can be considered as a group characteristic because it has an important effect on the emergence, change or transformation of new religious movements. Homosexual individuals who are not accepted, rejected or excluded by religions have entered into new searches. Some have abandoned their existing beliefs and sought a new formation, while others have tried to be accepted with their homosexual lives within their current beliefs. Homosexuality is an important element of the new religious movements that have emerged recently. It is possible to say that the limitlessness promised by the new religious movements is the most important method of gathering supporters. Movements that allow freedom in terms of sexuality and accept homosexuality as legitimate attract more attention and gather supporters more quickly. While there are new religious movements that support homosexuals, there are also movements that oppose them. For this reason, when we discussed the new religious movements' view of homosexuality, we examined this issue under 2 headings: Movements that oppose homosexuality (Unification Church, Jehovah's Witnesses, etc.) and movements that accept and support homosexuality. (Rael Movement, Rabbit God group etc.)
