Özet (EN)
The purpose of this study is to put forward that modern society, which is accepted as a object of investigation in sociology, is intertwined with economic, political, institutional and scientific areas and this situation ignores the ethical context of 'socius' in a chronological order through moving from the sociologists' and philosophers' conceptualizations of 'society'. Presenting that economic and political institutions are forms of 'socius' as all the other formations related to human beings, which arise from the 'socius', the current study aims at putting forward the sociology's so far ignored object of investigation. The fact that sociology (socius-logos), built based on its etymological origins, is limited with modern societies makes some of today's 'socius' forms out of history. In addition, the efforts to go beyond sociology through post or global conceptualizations profess the modern society and therefore they are in the position of terminating the sociology itself. Expanding on sociology as the words produced on socius can be accepted as a success, presenting it as a union form including traditional, modern, postmodern and global societies, and even civil and political societies. Besides, socius form will be able to demonstrate the comprehensiveness and depth of the sociology's object of investigation and as it makes these areas the object of social theory, it will be able conceptualize them being peculiar to what is social out of the anthropologic, political and economic areas. In addition, though presenting the epistemological richness of the words-logos produced about socius, it will be possible to go beyond the positivist approaches which limit the sociology. In the first part of the current study, conceptual and theoretical framework about 'socius' has been determined. In the following parts, 'socius' images of philosophers who have produced ideas on society since Ancient Greece up to today's postmodern society theorizations have been reached.
