Abstract (EN)
The thiazole ring is a five-membered heterocyclic structure containing one nitrogen and one sulfur atom, commonly found in various natural products and pharmaceutical compounds. Due to its biological activity, it serves as a lead compound in cancer treatment and plays a significant role in drug discovery and development processes across many fields. In this thesis, synthesis of new thiazole derivative compounds with potential biological activity was carried out in two steps. In the first step,4- methoxyphenylethylamine was used to react with isothiocyanate to form thiourea, followed by ring closure reactions with 2-bromoacetophenones. For the characterization of the synthesized compounds, classical spectral analyses such as IR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR and HRMS were used as well as two-dimensional NMR spectroscopy (COSY, HSQC, HMBC, NOESY, etc.) which provides high accuracy in structure determination. Using these techniques, the compounds were positioned at the atomic level and structural verifications were performed. The results of the study show that new derivatives bearing thiazole nuclei can be successfully synthesized and these structures can be elucidated in detail by 2D-NMR techniques. The data obtained will contribute to the literature in the field of organic synthesis and structural characterization.
