Undergraduate students' awareness about renewable energy sources

The objective of this study is to examine undergraduate students' awareness on renewable energy resources in terms of various variables. For this purpose, descriptive scanning model, which is a sub-type of general scanning model, was used in the research. In order to determine the awareness of undergraduate students about renewable energy sources; Renewable energy resources attitude scale for science teacher candidates with 5 likert : 'Validity and reliability study' was used. The study group of the research consists of 263 undergraduate students (146 women, 117 men) studying at the Faculty of Education, Ağrı İbrahim Çeçen University in the fall semester of the 2019-2020 academic year. A personal information form was used to determine the demographic characteristics of undergraduate students. The dat obtained at the end of the data collection process were analyzed using a statistical package program, Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). Since the data showed normal distribution, Reliability Analysis, Factor Analysis, T-Test, Anova Test, Correlation and Regression analysis were applied. The opinions of teacher candidates about renewable energy was examined in terms of variables "Gender, Class level, Father's education status, Mother's education status, Family income, When did you hear the concept of YEK?, Would you like the subject of Renewable Energy Resources to be addressed more at school? " with the obtained data. According to the study, it was concluded that they did not have enough information about renewable energy.
