Advantages, risks and dangers of renewable energy sources

With the increase in population and industrialization rate, the need for and consumption of energy is also increasing. Energy emerges as the most important process for social development, development and growth and is one of the most important policy topics for developing countries. Considering that fossil fuel resources will be depleted in the future or will not meet the need fully, it becomes a necessity to turn to renewable energy sources. Although our country is not rich in fossil resources, it is located in a lucky geography due to its geopolitical structure of renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, hydroelectric, geothermal and biomass energy. Turkey meets its energy demand by importing it from other countries, and as a result, the most important problem, foreign trade deficit. Turkey needs to use renewable energy resources effectively in order to prevent climate change resulting from sustainable economic development, employment and global warming. With the use of fossil fuel sources, greenhouse gases and acid rains threaten the world and negatively affect human health. As a result of the energy crises experienced in the past, countries determine their strategies and offer incentive mechanisms for renewable energy sources to ensure energy supply security. Since renewable energy sources, the usage rate of which has increased recently, are in the category of very dangerous class, all necessary measures should be taken to prevent occupational accidents and occupational diseases in terms of occupational health and safety. Renewable energy sources L Matrix analysis and Fine Kinney analysis risk assessment was carried out. As a result of the results obtained, it was observed that the Fine Kinney method gave more reliable and sensitive results. As a result, two different methods were evaluated and regulatory and preventive actions were suggested.
