Abstract (EN)

Due to the gradually reducing unrenewable petroleum products, projects on environment friendly renewable products obtained from natural resources are the most common research subjects of last years. Agricultural waste which are created by agricultural products, produced in large amount in our country and they can be used as renewable raw material for production high added valve products. So that; not only we can gain biodegradable products from economically valueless wastes, but also it will be possible to eliminate the problems of disposing of the wastes. As it?s known, the plant cell wall consists of three main polymers, cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin. Area of usage is wide for cellulose and can be found easily for lignin. However there is hardly area of us efor hemicellulose that is a heterogeneous biopolymer. Hemicellulose consists of different polymers. Its main component is xylan. This polymer consists of % 20-35 of dry weight in agricultural waste. Therefore, it is economically important to find area of us for xylan in recycling process of agricultural wastes. In the aforementioned study, coating materials for packaging materials will be prepared by using stem of sunflower and the barrier qualities of the coating material especially used for food packaging against fat, moisture and dust will be improved. Thus, the product in packaging material will be prevented from spoiling.
