Abstract (EN)

This thesis consists of three section. Hali is one of apologist of natural poetry in Urdu literature who sees Islam as religion of unity. In this thesis it has been emphasized that his reflections on politics, education and history of literature, reflecting his innovative ideas in his works. His literary personality and style have been associated and compared with the writers of the related period. Thus, it has emphasized his importance on Urdu literature. 1857 Movement is also known as Aligarh Movement and this movement is India's most important political movement. New ideas ve literary movements have been come to exist with Aligarh Movement. Shams-ul Ulema Maulana Altaf Hussain is poet, critic and innovative prosaist who has emerged in that period. In our thesis has been examined his position in Modern Urdu Literature, his life, works, literary personality and style. The subject of our work contains of Hali's life and his effect and contribution on Urdu Literature in the period of historical development. Key Words: Urdu Literature, Aligarh Movement, Progressive Writers' Movement, Prose and Verse Works.
