The effects of talent management on employee performance: An application on sales staff

Abstract (EN)

The competitive environment between enterprises is over and above that at the top level in the field of sales of products obtained in enterprises at the present time. The fact that there are more than one option in every field in terms of products makes the competition more difficult. At this stage, we come across the human factor working in businesses. Businesses that are aware of the talents of their employees and that can offer opportunities for their training and development can bring their employees to the highest performance. The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of sales staff talent management practices on their performance. The research was conducted with 332 participants working in the field of sales in various sectors between May - November 2022. The data were collected using Demographic Questionnaire, Talent Management Scale and Employee Performance Scale. SPSS and AMOS package programs were used in the analysis of the data. Statistical significance level was accepted as p<0.05. One unit increase in Institution Support score increased performance by 0.256 points, one unit increase in creativity score increased performance by 0.515 points, one unit increase in ability perception score increased performance by 0.614 points, one unit increase in motivation score increased performance by 0.583 points, one unit increase in competence score increased performance by 0.760 points and one-unit increase in talent management score increased performance by 0.132 points. In this study, which was conducted to reveal the effect of sales staff talent management practices on employees and to evaluate its relationship with performance, it was found that talent management sub-dimensions and employee performance scale were quite reliable, talent management sub-dimensions had a moderate positive effect on performance, and there were a strong positive relationship between talent management and performance was found. Considering these results, talent management practices to be applied to sales personnel will increase the performance of sales staff. Therefore, it is inevitable to increase performance on an institutional basis. It is recommended that talent management practices become widespread in businesses and a performance-based reward system should be established. Keywords: Talent, talent management, performance.
