Abstract (EN)
The research was conducted in a descriptive manner in order to determine the use of traditional and complementary health practices by adult individuals during the COVID-19 pandemic process. The sample group of the study consisted of 385 adult individuals between the ages of 20-65 registered to Mucur Family Health Centers. It was collected using the "Collection Form". Numbers, percentages, mean and Ki-Square tests were used in the process of analysing the data. It has been determined that 22.1% of individuals use traditional and complementary health practices for the treatment of COVID-19 and 66.0% use traditional and complementary health practices to protect from COVID-19. The phytotherapy method (herbal treatment) most used by individuals during the COVID-19 pandemic process is vitamins, citrus fruits, and garlic. It was determined that they mostly applied breathing exercises, movement therapies and music therapy among body and mind practices. During the COVID-19 pandemic process, the other complementary health approaches of individuals are to pray, to pray, to pour lead. In the study, it was determined that women with an extended family structure are more likely to use traditional and complementary health practices than those with a nuclear family structure. The rate of use of traditional and complementary health practices is higher in those who remain in hospital or home quarantine as COVID-19 suspected patients and those who believe in the effectiveness of traditional and complementary health practices in COVID-19 disease. It is recommended that healthcare professionals collect data on traditional and complementary health practices during the COVID-19 pandemic, and provide training and consultancy services to the community. xiii November 2022, 65 Pages.
