Abstract (EN)

The aim of this thesis is to evaluate the results of frequent therapy (ST) (five times a week) in adults who stutter and to compare these results with the results of spaced therapy (AT) (once a week). The therapy program consists of ten therapy and three follow-up sessions, the same for the ST and AT groups. The therapy process was completed in two weeks in frequent therapy and ten weeks in spaced therapy. The participants of the study were 10 stuttering adults. A mixed design was used to evaluate the results after therapy in a multidimensional way. Quantitative data of the study included stuttering behavior measurements and St. Louis Inventory of Life Perspectives and Stuttering. The qualitative data of the research were obtained by analyzing the data obtained from the semi-structured interviews. The results of the study revealed that there was a significant improvement in a significant part of the quantitative data of both therapy groups after the therapy period, and these results were mostly maintained during the follow-up period. The participants stated that they felt more successful in managing their stuttering, their self-confidence increased, they get to know themselves, and they believed that they would transfer the techniques they learned to their lives better over time. In conclusion, both therapy groups achieved similar results. In addition, the participants stated that they felt more successful in coping with stuttering. In general, the participants stated that they would prefer to have sessions more often than once a week, and they shared a common opinion that more frequent sessions during the follow-up might be better.
